January 4, 2010

CHESTERFIELD, MI. – Dr. James I. Finley, Chief Executive Officer of Burtek Inc, today announced the appointment of Mr. Michael M. Aldrich as Vice-President, Business Development.   As part of Burtek’s reorganization, Business Development will now include Strategic Planning, Government Relations, Industry Relations, Proposal Development Management, Competitive Analysis and Market Assessments.  With these combined functions, Mr. Aldrich will report directly to Dr. Finley.

Mr. Aldrich brings 30 years of corporate business development experience to Burtek, having served on active duty as an officer in the United States Army prior to his employment in the private sector.   He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and also holds a master of science degree from the University of Southern California.

Most recently, Mr. Aldrich led defense contractor Force Protection Industries to rapid growth in revenue for over 6 years, beginning in 2003.  Dr. Finley said that “We are pleased to add Mike to our management team.  His skill set, hands-on experience, and many relationships throughout the defense industry should prove invaluable to Burtek and its shareholders.   Further, his demonstrated ability to connect federal funding to new technologies and business ventures will undoubtedly assist us in the growth of our Michigan-based business.”
